Did you know that storing your trailer is now allowed under certain conditions?
Here are the rules to follow for storing your trailer on your property:
- Only one trailer is allowed per lot, and a main building must be erected on the lot;
- The trailer must be located on a lot with a minimum area of 1,500 m²;
- The trailer must belong to the property resident;
- The trailer must have valid registration;
- The trailer must be mobile and in good condition (no permanent anchoring);
- At no time can trailers be located less than 20 meters from the natural high-water mark of a lake or watercourse;
- The trailer must not exceed 8 meters in length;
- The trailer must not be used for habitation;
- The trailer must not be connected to potable water or the sewage system of the main residence.
Location:
- The trailer can be located in the yards/lateral setbacks, at least 3 meters from the property line;
- The trailer can be located in the yard/rear setback, as long as it is not on a waterfront property, at least 3 meters from the property line;
- The trailer must not be located in the yard/front setback;
- The trailer must not be located in the yard/secondary setback.
