The renovation work at Madeleine-Marquis Park officially began this morning. In the coming days, excavation and backfilling operations will take place to prepare the ground for future infrastructure.
This project includes the development of a multisport-surfaced rink, which will be used in the winter for hockey, free skating and broomball, and in the summer for deck hockey, pickleball, and basketball. Additional features are also planned, including a welcome chalet, a petanque court, a shuffleboard court, a children’s playground, urban furniture (park benches and a picnic table), as well as the refurbishment of walking trails and the observation platform.
This project aims to provide citizens with high-quality sports and recreational facilities to promote healthy lifestyles, build social and community ties, encourage physical activity among both young and older residents, and reduce isolation among seniors.
